On Monday, a group of Year 3 and 4 children traveled to Cheam Park Farm Junior Academy to take part in a ‘Netball Festival’. The children were involved in lots of mini-games and activities and each received a certificate for their enthusiasm. Well done to all those involved!
On Wednesday, a group of eight Year 5 and Year 6 girls traveled to Sutton Cricket Club to take part in the Sutton School’s Kwik Cricket tournament. After a close defeat to Westbourne Primary, the girls went on to beat Cheam Park Farm B’s by 7 runs. This allowed them to progress into the semi-final where they faced a tough St. Elpheges. The girls put up a valiant effort, but were defeated by a brilliant batting display by their opponents. They then went on to re-play Westbourne in the 3rd/4th place play-off. The game was a much closer affair, with some excellent batting and bowling from both sides, but Avenue managed to go on to win the game by three runs! Well done to all the girls involved!
