This week’s physical challenge is to take a family walk. Regular walking has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease and obesity and can even be more effective in maintaining health than running. As well as the obvious health benefits, walking is a very social activity that will allow you to chat about your week or discuss what is happening in the future. A range of different charities can assist you with walking. The National Trust have a list of top 10 family walks, with Box Hill’s stepping stone walking making the list (only a 20 minute drive away), and a resource that allows you to select walks in your local area. As well as this, the Ramblers Association and Walking For Health arrange volunteer lead walks around the country.
Have fun in the fresh air and enjoy your walks!
