Girls Premier League Primary Stars

This year, we were really lucky to enter the Premier League Primary Stars Tournament as this is the first year they have opened it up to girls under 12. Within the tournament, teams from schools across the borough of Sutton battled it out with the overall winners moving onto the next round as representatives of Sutton.

Throughout the tournament we played exceptionally well as a team with this being by far our best team performance. After beating Cheam Park Farm and Robin Hood, we were through to the semi-finals as winners of our group and still yet to concede a goal. We drew Muschamp in the semi-finals which proved to be a game that we had to work hard for- especially as we had never played them before. The girls dug deep and  came out with a 2-0 victory.

We were in the final, but we new it would be a difficult games as our opposition, Barrow Hedges, had also not lost a game in the tournament. After a few minutes, Barrow Hedges took the lead and it was our turn to work hard and try to get a goal back. We had some nail biting moments, but unfortunately we couldn’t find a way through. The game ended 1-0 to Barrow Hedges and we respectfully took the silver medal.

A huge well done to all the girls who played- Natasha, Tilly, Emily, Yara, Nicola, Mia and Akalya.

It was a difficult tournament and we had many of our players out, but you played exceptionally as a team and deserved to be in the final!
